Throughout this week, as a class we are learning bow to
structure our papers correctly. After going through many English classes in my
life, I have learned a lot of different styles and structures in which to
write. The normal five paragraphs essay just doesn’t seem to cut it in college.
Here, I feel as though professors want more than that. They want to know why
you are choosing to write, what point you take on an argument, and where you
got your information from. I think that after discussing the ways I can
elaborate my writing, I am going to improve on the quality ad length of my
writing. Also I was given the “writing process”. I have never learned nor heard
of this before. I believe this process will too help me strengthen my papers. I
have learned that when in the process of writing a piece, you can have many
drafts. Normally, I am used to one draft that is looked over for grammatical
errors and then a final draft from there. I have never had the chance to peer
review, and I think that will help me excel. This weeks class has also helped
me understand the difference between the topic of a paper and your thesis.
